Aqsa Association’s Projects in Africa Deliver Hope and Sustainability

In the villages and remote areas of the African continent—where millions suffer from extreme poverty, water scarcity, and fragile infrastructure—Aqsa Association has extended a hand of compassion, becoming a bridge of goodness that connects people’s needs with the trust of charitable giving. The association has launched a series of humanitarian and developmental projects across several African countries, aiming to meet basic needs and improve living conditions in communities that lack even the most essential services.

Among the most prominent of these initiatives is the Udhiyah (Qurbani) Project, implemented annually during the blessed Eid al-Adha season. The association distributes fresh sacrificial meat to poor families in deprived African villages, providing a rare source of protein to people who may not have eaten meat in months. This project reinforces a sense of solidarity and reminds them that they are not forgotten by the wider Muslim Ummah during the season of giving.

Water well projects are also among the most vital efforts undertaken by the association in Africa. Wells are drilled and equipped in regions suffering from water scarcity and contamination risks. These wells have transformed the lives of thousands by providing clean drinking water, reducing disease rates, and easing the burden on women and children who previously had to walk long distances under dangerous conditions to collect water.

On the spiritual and educational front, Aqsa Association has implemented mosque construction projects in rural villages, turning them into beacons of faith and learning. These mosques serve not only as places for prayer but also as community hubs where children are taught, the Qur’an is memorized, and moral and religious values are strengthened through various educational and outreach activities.

The projects carried out by Aqsa Association in Africa represent a comprehensive model of sustainable humanitarian work. These initiatives go beyond emergency relief to create long-term, meaningful impact in people’s lives. With the generous support of donors across the Muslim world, the association continues to spread kindness to hearts longing for mercy—sending a clear message to those in need: “We are close—not only in distance, but in humanity.”
