Amid the forced displacement that has affected hundreds of thousands of residents in the Gaza Strip due to widespread aggression and destruction, Aqsa Association took the initiative to establish Aqsa Camp—a comprehensive shelter project that provides safe refuge for displaced families who have lost their homes. This camp stands out as one of the association’s most significant achievements in emergency humanitarian response, aiming to restore a minimum level of stability and dignity to the affected, particularly the most vulnerable groups including children, women, and the elderly.

Aqsa Camp was designed to be more than just a cluster of tents; it is a humanitarian space that respects dignity and meets essential needs. The camp includes well-organized temporary housing units equipped with clean water, sanitation facilities, and temporary electricity, in addition to dedicated spaces for community and educational activities for children. The location of the camp was carefully selected to ensure accessibility and protection from environmental and security risks.

The association ensures daily support within the camp by distributing hot meals, food parcels, hygiene kits, and providing primary healthcare services. Aqsa’s teams, in cooperation with local volunteers, conduct regular visits to assess family needs and deliver psychological and social support—aimed at reducing trauma and creating a more inclusive environment for those affected.

Recognizing that dignity is incomplete without education and hope, Aqsa Association established safe spaces for children within the camp, offering educational and recreational activities supervised by specialists, along with group psychological support sessions. Special corners were also dedicated to women, where they can receive training and empowerment opportunities—helping restore confidence and community engagement despite the harsh realities of displacement.

Aqsa Camp represents a successful model of humanitarian fieldwork and demonstrates the association’s ability to turn emergency response into a sustainable humanitarian initiative. Through this project, Aqsa Association reaffirms its enduring commitment to supporting displaced families—not just with shelter, but with psychological and social security—offering a hand of hope reaching out from beneath the rubble toward a more stable and hopeful future.
